Provecho Taco Tours
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU JOIN US
What is the Mexico City taco tour actually like?
A walking taco tour through one neighborhood, stopping at around 5 local taquerías. Relaxed and social, but with real depth — we cover the history of Mexico City, taco culture, and what makes each stop worth eating at.
What makes Provecho different from other food tours?
Most people visiting Mexico City eat great tacos. We take you to the ones you wouldn't find without someone showing you where to go. Each stop has a story, and we break down what separates a good taco from a great one while you're eating it.
What's included?
All tacos across every stop, plus mezcal, beer, and water along the way. You just show up hungry.
How long is it?
About 3 hours. We walk a little, eat a lot. No rushing.
Who is this for?
Curious people. Travelers who'd rather eat at a plastic-stool taquería than somewhere with a QR code menu. First-time visitor or returning — if you want something real, this is it.
Can I join alone?
Yes — a lot of guests do. It's one of the easiest ways to meet people while you're in the city.
Are there vegetarian options?
Vegetarian? We've got you — just not on the standard route. Book a private tour and we'll build the experience around you so every stop works.
Can I bring luggage?
Yes. Just let us know in advance and we'll help coordinate around it.
How much does it cost?
Shared tours (Condesa, Narvarte, and Condesa After Dark) are $79 USD per person. Private and custom tours are priced based on group size and itinerary — reach out and we'll put something together.
What's the cancellation policy?
48+ hours before: full refund. 24–48 hours before: 50% refund. Less than 24 hours: no refund. If we cancel for any reason — weather, unforeseen circumstances — you get a full refund, no questions.
How many taco stops are there?
Around 5, each a different style. No two stops are the same.
What kind of tacos will we try?
A mix of traditional Mexico City tacos and newer styles that show where the food scene is heading. We'll tell you what you're eating and why it matters.
How big are the groups?
Maximum 10 guests. Small on purpose.
What if a taco stand is closed?
Mexico City moves fast, but we always have strong backup options ready. The experience stays consistent even if a stop changes.
Should I bring cash?
Not necessary. A few pesos is helpful if you want extras, but everything on the tour is covered.
What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes, light layers. Mexico City weather does what it wants.
How does ordering work at taco stands?
We'll walk you through it at every stop — what to say, how it works, so you feel at home and not out of place.
Is the food safe?
Yes — every stop is carefully selected and places locals eat at regularly.
Will I get recommendations to keep exploring?
Yes. We send a curated list of spots across the city so you can keep going on your own.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes, fully customizable — dietary preferences, special occasions, your own pace. Just reach out.
Can I do a tour in a different neighborhood?
Absolutely. Each neighborhood is a different experience. Returning guests also get a discount on their next booking.
